Unknown to most of the cell phone consumers in America, ZTE is actually one of the largest cell phone makers in China. However the company is now making a run for the American market with their first entry, the ZTE C88. Unfortunately, it’s a pretty average phone no matter how you look at it. Using a traditional flip-phone set up and design, the cell phone is Bluetooth capable, has a music player and a camera. MetroPCS is the primary designated phone carrier for the C88, which will only give it limited exposure to the US market. The average retail price is $139 with no required contract.

As stated earlier, the C88 is rather plain. In fact, it looks a lot like the Motorola Razr – except it resembles the Razr’s clones even more. As far as features are concerned, the ZTE C88 is the epitome of the phrase ‘middle of the road’. There is no high end music or video services although you do get some basic multimedia additions, but those aren’t really worth mentioning. The address book can hold 500 contacts and has room each person to have a four phone numbers, an email address and a home address. All of the o

ther basic features, like text, vibrate mode, etc. are all here. It’s all here – well, all of the basics are here.
