Okay, so the original iPhone has only been out for about 10 months. But Apple knows a good thing when they have it and the enthusiasm for the iPhone is contagious. If you know anyone who has one, chances are you’ve looked on admiringly or even begged to take it for a spin yourself with that sleek touch screen. As such, Apple is busy working out the details on the latest iPhone, expected to rock and roll into stores in June or July.

So if you haven’t taken the plunge yet, Apple is betting that 14 million more of you will this year. What can they possibly be doing to that phone to make it that appealing to the masses? For starters, carrier deals will be expanded throughout Europe and Asia. Also, faster connectivity times to the internet (3G wireless, hence the unofficial name of the updated iPhone), as well as the ability to add applications to your iPhone through iTunes. The iPhone 2.0 software also will now allow access to corporate email networks, allowing greater relativity to businesses looking to upgrade employee cell phones.
Other possibilities (not confirmed) for the 3G edition include: a flip version and/or a slide version with a full keyboard instead of the touch version on the current phone.
